After completing a Bachelor of Design
degree at Liverpool Hope University Rebecca went on to do a
silversmithing and jewellery residency at Bishopsland Workshops
in Reading. In 2003 she successfully completed a Masters Degree
at the prestigious Royal College of Art in Kensington, London.
Rebecca currently has a workshop in Clerkenwell and it is from
here that she creates her distinctive tableware and jewellery.
Rebecca's display pieces for the table are visually striking
and almost always have an ambiguity on what they are to hold
and how they are to hold it. Bowls are cut in half, tapering
arcs and cylinders with semi circles cut out provoke a second
glance and bring an element of spontaneity and displacement
to the table. Endeavouring to be sculptural yet functional her
objects are borne from her interest in the distinctive and celebratory
centrepieces of the 18th and 19th Century.
Alongside her tableware, Rebecca designs and makes bespoke jewellery,
predominantly in sterling silver and gold. Contrasting gold
with silver, textures, ribbons, and freshwater pearls Rebecca’s
jewellery is pretty, feminine but ultimately wearable.
